Meta stopped political and social issue ads in the EU

Meta announced it would stop political, electoral and social issue ads in the EU from October 2025, citing the EU's new political advertising rules. If an EU ad is flagged as social issue content, it can be rejected even if you do not see it as political. Reword it or keep it out of EU targeting.

What this affects

What to do

  1. Check if the ad touches a social issue topic.
  2. Remove EU countries from targeting if the message must stay.
  3. Reword commercial ads to avoid issue framing.
  4. Request a review only if the ad is clearly commercial.

Account risk

Repeated rejections can affect ad account quality. Fix the pattern before you publish more.
