Restricted from advertising when you never ran ads

A profile can be restricted from advertising without running a single ad, often because it was linked to a Page or business portfolio Meta flagged, or because the login was misused at some point. The restriction sits on your Facebook profile, so the review request is made from Account Quality on the profile, not on an ad account.

Common reasons

Steps

  1. Open Account Quality and select your profile.
  2. Read the reason Meta shows, such as inauthentic behaviour.
  3. In Accounts Center, check where you are logged in, change the password and turn on two-factor with an app.
  4. Leave any business portfolio you do not recognise.
  5. Request a review on the profile and keep the confirmation.

Why it matters even if you do not advertise

Advertisers report that a profile restricted from advertising can get in the way of setting up Business Suite for a Page, being added to someone else's ad account, or boosting a post. That is a reason to clear it even if you never plan to buy ads.

Official sources

Meta changes its help pages, menus and forms often. Follow the wording on your own screen and the current Help Center. Ad Account Unban is an independent service and is not affiliated with Meta.

YOUR QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

The restriction is years old. Can I still ask for a review?

If the request button shows in Account Quality, yes. If it does not, see profile restricted from advertising, review rejected.

Will a new profile fix it?

No. A second profile made to get around a restriction breaks Meta's rules and can be restricted too.

Who decides?

Meta makes the final decision.
